Sony Ericcson Flashing Entire Tutorial

Well This article is intended to provide you with all the information you need to know about flashing the Sony Ericsson Mobiles So lets go through this.

So let’s understand some basic terms related to this

1. What do you mean by flashing?

Well in the mobile/PC industry flashing means writing something onto the chip. Well flashing is done on PC bios by which we can write new entries and updates onto our bios, in the same manner flashing a SE phone means we are simply writing some code on to the phone. The software for the working of mobile phones are usually written on to the memory chips inside a phone By flashing we change this operating software there by which we can program the phone as we need. There are certain limitations in flashing that all are explained later.

2. Why would we need to Flash SE phones?

Well this is an important question to be asked before you flash your phone, Actually as far as i know flashing is easy ,and there is definitely a risk factor in it, I will say only around(10%). Actually the need of flashing for most of the users is to get glittering flashing effects, change the volume/quality of sound, Improve camera performance, Get walkman on non walkman sets ,Customize the looks etc. All i will say is flash the phone only if u need it.

3. CAN WE FLASH ANY SONY ERICCSON PHONE?

Well the answer for this question is NO. First we need to understand the thing that we cant change any physical component during flashing, a lot of questions is asked during flashing. I will give you an example

SE K530i doesn’t have autofocus then the question is if we put k550i camera driver will we get autofocus??

the answer is a BIG NO.

So you first need to find the correct firmware for your phone, flashing the phone with wrong firmwares can cause problems.

4. Tools required for flashing.

The main tools used to flash firmware of your phone are XS++ or JDFlasher. These utility are used to flash the main and file system of a Sony Ericsson phone.

Actually we can customize the menu file system Flash themes etc using SETool or XS++ or JDFlasher itself i will recommend JD Flasher because its interface is easy to understand and it can Flash CID 52 and CID 53 Firmwares

For This Tutorial am Flashing my K530 i to W660i which is CID 53.
