Installing Sony Ericsson PC suite on Vista
Are you facing problems in installing Sony Ericsson PC suite in your Windows vista Os ?
If your answer is yes, actually its quite simple please go through this article and follow the instructions
Instructions:
- Goto control panel -> User Accounts -> Turn user account control on /off -> Untick UAC box -> ok -> Restart.
- Run the installation program
- When you get the error, do NOT click OK, but leave this open.
- Go to localsettings/temp
- Find a new folder with the most recent date and time (from when you extracted it)
- Copy the MSI files to your desktop
- Use Orca.msi (http://www.brentnorris.net/orca.msi) to edit the Sony Ericssion PC Suite.msi file
- Edit a line called Launchcondition – remove the first line
- Edit a line called file remove the first 2 lines called msxml4.dll & msxml4r.dll (old verisons you have to remove them or the installation will halt as the system won’t be able to overwrite the newer files in Vista)
- Save
- Run the Pc Suite.msi file, now choose custom install and choose the following stuff to install later:-
- Image editor
- MMS home studio
- mobile newtworking wizard
- Actually u can try installing them but there are chances of errors poping up
- Download m-Router installer http://developer.intuwave.com/Downloads/m-Router & run it using Win XP Sp2 comptability Mode and with administrator Previliage.(Not required in case ur USB drivers install properly!)
- Connect your phone to the PC, check device manager to make sure all phone drivers are loaded and installed properly, if prompted always choose automatically locate.
- Restart your PC Done now you can enjoy the fully worikng Sony Ericsson PC suite on your Windows vista Os

It goes like:
“Here’s how I install the pc suite:
1. I plug in my phone to the notebook (Do not install the pc suite at this point). Vista will automatically install the drivers. you can click on the right bottom balloon to see the progress.
2. After Vista finished install the drivers, It will tell you that phone is ready to use.
3. Then Download the PC suite from SonyEricsson.com phone support area.
4. Install the PC suite. At one point, PC suite will tell you not to connect the phone to computer, simply unplug the phone.
5. Follow the instruction, until It tells you to plug in the phone again, then PC suite will install the driver again. It won’t take really long (I think less than 1 minute)
At 1st attempt of installation, I didn’t install the drivers first by plug in the phone before PC suite installation. This cause when I install the pc suite, It says installing drivers in the middle of process, but that installing drivers never ends (like hang). I must log off to stop the installation.
So, the point is install the drivers first by plug in the phone to computer before you install the PC suite. ”
